Submit a Tournament

Back to Tournaments
Most tournaments are added automatically

If your tournament is posted to the hsquizbowl.org tournament database, you do not need to submit anything here. We check that database (and NAQT's tournament listings) every day and add high school tournaments automatically.

Here is what happens on its own:

  • Before your tournament — once it is announced, it is listed here as an upcoming potential qualifier, after a quick check by PACE.
  • After your tournament — when you post the final standings, the results are imported, and PACE reviews them to determine which teams earned NSC bids.
Submitting one by hand

Submit a tournament directly if it will not appear on hsquizbowl.org or NAQT — or if it is already over, was never posted there, and you would like it considered as a qualifier.

Submitting requires a tournament-director account, so that we know who entered the event and can follow up about certification.

What makes a tournament a qualifier

In short: it must guarantee at least 8 games and be open varsity competition (novice/JV-only events, leagues, and non-academic formats don't qualify). Roughly the top 20% of the field earns bids. The About page explains the rules and the review process in full.
